Creating an AI-assisted platform for agents selling telecom services

Problem

  • This telecommunications company wanted us to propose a blue-sky idea for how they could leverage AI to help their sales agents better sell telecom (TV, mobile, internet) packages to customers and make higher sales for the company

  • When I came onto the project, a lot of design had already been completed and the “blue-sky” concept had started to become more constrained by business objectives and strategies

  • My role was to create a realistic way that the platform could display how the price changed when the agent selected different packages or manually changed options so they could effectively communicate savings to the customer

    • The issue was that sometimes agents would select a package but make minor changes, and the company wanted to ensure the customer still got the package discount and visually show this to the agent so they could communicate it

Solution & Outcome

  • I designed a solution that allows agents to dynamically change the package they’ve selected without losing the package price, but also demonstrating that the package has been modified

  • The client was excited by our final design and proposed that the company actually take action to employ this “blue-sky” design concept
